Volvo XC60 Competitive Comparison

Comparing the 2021 Volvo XC60 to Other Luxury SUVs

The Volvo XC60 is the go-to Volvo SUV for our DFW drivers. With its all of its modern features, this luxury SUV keeps drivers satisfied.

But how do you know that the 2021 Volvo XC60 will be the SUV that brings more convenience to your life? While this competition can be tight, the 2021 Volvo XC60 still holds several advantages over the 2021 Lexus NX, the 2021 Audi Q5, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC, and the 2021 BMW X3. Read on as we compare these luxury SUVs.

2021 Volvo XC60 vs. 2021 Lexus NX

The power an engine has on a vehicle is important information you need to know. Normally, you are buying an SUV for your busy lifestyle, so you need to know that the engine will hold up to get you and your passengers all over Dallas.

The 2021 Volvo XC60 has three engine options to the one engine option on the 2021 Lexus NX. The standard Volvo XC60 engine is more powerful than the standard engine on the Lexus NX. The Lexus NX is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The engines on the Volvo XC60 include:

  • A 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque
  • A 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 316 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque
  • A 2.0L four-cylinder electric motor and battery pack combined to make 400 horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque

While both engines will give you the power you need, having more options on the Volvo XC60 gives you the chance to get exactly what you want without compromise.

2021 Volvo XC60 vs. 2021 Audi Q5

The Volvo XC60 beats the Audi Q5 when it comes to interior comfort. Long drives out of Keller are easier on the driver’s back in the Volvo XC60. The Volvo XC60 has a ten-way power-adjusted front seat to get you the perfect height and distance to the wheel. This is compared to the Audi Q5’s one-way power-adjusted front seat. The front seat is also standard with a two-way memory setting, so you do not have to worry about it taking a long time to readjust after someone else drives your vehicle.

The Volvo XC60 will also keep you and your passengers at more comfortable temperatures than the Audi Q5 with the dual-zone automatic climate control. The two zones let you have a personalized temperature and fan speed compared to your front passenger.

2021 Volvo XC60 vs. 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC

When you prepare for a trip out of Haltom City, the Volvo XC60 will supply more cargo space than the Mercedes-Benz GLC. With the back seats up, the Volvo XC60 offers 21.7 cubic feet of space, while the Mercedes-Benz GLC offers 20.5 cubic feet. However, with all of the seating configurations, the Volvo XC60 maxes its cargo space out at 49.8 cubic feet of space, which is nine more feet than the Mercedes-Benz GLC can offer.

There are also smaller features that help the Volvo XC60 come out on top. The hands-free tailgate lets you open the trunk without having to put down your groceries or cargo. Hovering your foot under the sensor opens the trunk. While both vehicles offer a panoramic sunroof to make drives in the summer more relaxing, the Volvo XC60 makes it standard on the base trim level, while the Mercedes-Benz GLC makes it standard on the upper trim levels.

2021 Volvo XC60 vs. 2021 BMW X3

Driving through Fort Worth without some entertainment is boring. While both SUVs have an entertainment touchscreen, the Volvo XC60’s touchscreen is slightly bigger at nine inches compared to the BMW X3’s 6.5-inch screen. This makes it easier to see the apps and navigation directions. While both vehicles can connect your smartphone to the touchscreen with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, it is standard on the Volvo XC60 instead of optional like on the BMW X3.

We know safety is a big deal to you. Both the 2021 Volvo XC60 and the 2021 BMW X3 have a wide range of safety features, but the Volvo XC60 has more. Some of these standard features include:

  • Forward collision mitigation
  • Lane-departure warning
  • Automated emergency braking
  • Lane-keeping assist
  • Rear parking sensors
